I am currently engaged as tribunal chairman or member on a number of major infrastructure works throughout the world which includes power stations, roadways, railways and bridges.
Disputes regarding the procurement of major infrastructure projects or within the world of refurbishment of existing infrastructures are normally complex involving such matters as social, legal and commercial issues, risk, delays, mitigation measures, technical issues and unforeseeable events. However on occasion disputes also arise due to such administrative matters as payment, non certification, commissioning and taking over issues. Within remote areas, indigenous peoples’ issues, environmental and project risk add to the matrix of complexity.
